My daughter’s wedding/reception was perfect…so perfect… that it still seems like it was just a beautiful dream! One of the best decisions I made as Mother of the Bride was to hire Maria Martinez from HJ Planners as our Day of Coordinator. Working with Maria several weeks before the wedding allowed me to remain calm while helping my daughter plan an out of town wedding. Not only did she make herself available for our many questions/concerns, Maria was instrumental in organizing all of our wedding day transportation needs whether it was shuttles for the guests, limos for the bridal party, or get-away car for the bride and groom. She, also, constructed an amazing Wedding Day Timeline that worked just right. Maria was professional and flexible…working with the other vendors to pull everything together, so that I could sit back, smile, and enjoy every moment of my daughter’s wedding!

We hired them half way through the wedding planning process and my only regret is that we hadn’t hired them sooner. They have fantastic relationships with some of the best vendors in the DC area and ended up saving us a ton of money.

They took us through every option step by step from venue search to flower selection and answered any concern or question in a professional responsive manner…Everything that seemed impossible to me – they seemed to make happen.

“I called HJ Planners for “day-of” wedding support about 10 days before my wedding – about as last minute as you can get. Jessica was very easy going and picked up very quickly on how to respond to everyone involved in the wedding madness – me, my mom, my fiance, the broader family, our vendors. She made good suggestions, didn’t push, thought ahead and took care of things seamlessly.

We had a multicultural (African-Asian) wedding at two venues – a beautiful church in NOVA and reception at Oxon Hill Manor under a tent with 220 guests with two caterers, a DJ, a band, and planned it all from out of state. I did not realize till a couple of weeks before my wedding that I would have been crazy not to have a coordinator. I loved having Heather. She answered every email right away. I always felt quickly reassured. She was the best investment we could have made. I wish I hired her earlier in the process! Right off the bat, she saved us a significant amount of money (even before the contract was signed!). She and her team are worth every penny. She was calm, organized, proactive, never pushy, very patient and so professional through it all. I had boxes of DIY decor with detailed instructions for setting it all up and when I saw the venue before the guests arrived I was completely blown away. There’s no better feeling than to see your dream come to life in front of your eyes!
